Painters and decorators work on various types of projects, for example, re-decorating houses or applying heavy-duty finishes to huge structures like the Rail Bridges and Ships. For domestic work various finishes including, paint, varnishes and wallpaper to decorate rooms are used. Clients provide instructions regarding choice of colour, finishing texture and wallpaper patterns.
For commercial contracts, removing old paintwork using abrasive blasting methods may be required before applying new coatings with industrial paint spraying equipment.
Our painters and decorators also have experience with specialised finishes including Artex™, rag-rolling, graining and marbling are also undertaken.
Tasks Include:
Measuring surface areas to work out how much paint or wall covering you need.
Stripping off old wallpaper or paint.
Filling holes and cracks and levelling surfaces.
Preparing surfaces with primer and undercoat.
Mixing paint to the right shade, by hand or by using computerised colour-matching equipment.
Applying layers of paint and hanging wallpaper.
Tidying up after finishing a job.
