Essex Tilers

Qualified tilers undertake wall and floor tiling on domestic kitchens and bathrooms together with industrial premises, swimming pools, shops, hotels and offices. All tilers have experience with various materials including ceramics, terracotta, stone, granite, marble, limestone and slate together with fixing using the appropriate adhesives. Specialist work such as Victorian and Mosaic tiling are also undertaken. On large projects our tilers may work in teams. All Tilers are able to work to technical plans drawn up by the architect or builder.
Tasks include:
Erecting and dismantling basic working platforms.
Preparing surfaces, ie, to repair or remove and level-off the work surface, calculating the right amount of tiles and adhesives.
Positioning and fixing tiles.
Using hand-cutters or tile machine tools; fixing wall or floor tiles, applying grout.
The use of PPE (personal protective equipment) during any type of works.
Skills include:
Numerical skills for measuring and calculating quantities of materials.
Being creative and able to produce tile designs or matching patterns.
Working alone and as part of a team.
